It's not the winning, it's the taking of the trophy when no-one's looking!

Ask Pickles!

Ummm, so the loser knows so they can go home and weep?

Actually, this is a veryu important topic and knowing how to lose graciously is vital!!!

That old adage needs to be retired......no, winning isn't everything but it is a definite ego booster

Pickles was the dog that found the Jules Rimet cup (world cup) which had been stolen in March 1966, a few months before somebody won it. (sad to say, I knew the dogs name without having to look it up!)

Aged 10 at the time, I was already a budding master criminal. My only mistake was to trust that damn mutt with where I had stashed to stolen cup. He went to the authorities, was declared a hero and went on to star in a film with Eric Sykes. Meanwhile, I have had to maintain my silence for over half a century...

Until now!

Stand by for a major book: "Pickles, the Traitor I knew". It will be a sensational international bestseller. Spielberg is already negotiating for the rights.

I always play to win... but I'm often playing a different game than my opponent. I played golf without being particularly good at it in order to meet people who knew things I wanted know. If they had a better score, I still won.
I played poker to break even, which I invariably did, so I always got invited back. I was just good enough to stay under the radar. Meanwhile I was making the contacts and gathering the information that were the real reasons for playing as far as I was concerned.

    Quoting  :

If you want to play poker with my crowd you'll have to change your attitude about cheating when no one is looking. I play with some real head
kickers.
